Day 4

It was a Monday morning in Paris.  After breakfast, I decided to go somewhere with more greenery.  Somewhere which could keep me away from crowds and enjoy fresh air in the city.  Then I thought of the Promunade Plantee shown in the movie "Before Sunset".  " It must be interesting, a garden built on an elevated walkway miles long above ground", I thought.
So I took off to its starting point which located behind Opera Bastille and began my Day 4 journey in Paris.

It took me more than 2 hours to complete the whole Promunade Plantee walk.  It was almost mid day when I finished.  I took a metro train at the Bel Air Station and on the train I needed to decide where to go next.  I decided that I would like to visit La Defense.

44. Coming out from La Defense metro station, the Grande Arche was just in front of me.

This day, I didn't want to be too aggressive for travelling.  May be I was a little exhausted after walking around the city for 4 days.  I decided to end the day earlier and returned to my apartment before sunset.  Day 4 ended.

Thanks for viewing and I shall continue my story...............

An interesting snap shots series. Shots are moody and nostalgic in ensemble and impressionistic in brush stroke.
Have the feeling that snap shot series are often built on, for example, a story line ... to hook things up in a bid to engage viewers. Maybe as you move on to your Day 5, you can inject a little bit of your feelings or observations of a more substantial context into the shots to make your stream of consciousness a bit more transparent to us. That definitely would make viewing much more pleasant.

interesting snap shot, however, is there any reason to have edge blur or vignette in many pictures?
Besides the mood and sentimental tone of all the pictures, snap shots are important to build up a message from the photographer.  Paris Diary is the topics, what kind of message you would like to deliver about a day in Paris.  My memory of Paris is: relax, art, variety of nations (these are the scene).  My soul about Paris : freedom, culture and fair.  Help me to remember my Paris in your pictures.  Leicatam.

Thanks for your suggestion, Pete.  What you are saying is true, and I wish I can have some more time to put my feeling /observations in words for sharing. ;cheers;

Thanks leicatam for viewing and opinion.  Technically the edge blur and vignette come from the camera itself.  The Holga 135BC is a toy camera which takes 135 film and produces black corners automatically.  Besides freedom, culture or relaxing, Paris always give me a dreamy feeling.  A dream which is so beautiful, soft and untrue.  This is a reason why I decided to use a Holga this time.  I don't know if this is a choice of many people, but it does go with my personal feeling to Paris.  Wish the photos can convey the same to many others.

Day 5

This morning, I decided to go for a walk along the River Seine.  The weather was so fine with morning sun gently washed on to the river bends.  It was a weekday in Paris after Easter holidays, a lot of tourists had already left.  The city returned to be quiet and calm.  A few people along the river had caught my attention.

After the morning river walk, I decided to go to Montmartre after lunch.   I took a metro train to the station Anvers and walked slowly uphill through Rue Steinkerque to Basilique Du Sacre Coeur.  The place was already full of visitors.
