威士忌點解呢幾年會勃起來

今鋪唔講停產, 升值, 拍賣, 罕有, 炒作, 稀有等種種元素........
我會用深入淺出, 精簡正確事實去破解大家好想知嘅謎團.


綜合全面觀察, 我個人認為:

1. 愛飲紅酒人仕有5, 7, 10年酒齡好大部份人都飲過晒五大, 金鐘, DRC, 再買來飲的話唔會有好大驚喜, 因為巳經飲過晒, 新買嘅只係年份唔同, 况且價錢巳貴一大截. 舉例Lynch Bagges, Pontet Canet 開始由幾佰蚊飲到依而仟幾二仟蚊支, 買左飲完後可能係只有驚而冇喜. Lafite 巳係活生生例子.
相反威士忌產區例如 Scotland 就有五大區, 加埋每間蒸餾廠所用嘅 Water, Barley & Cask 各有特色, 令至製成品每桶都係各自各精彩, 永不重覆, 再配合不同指定年份及入樽高質數監製, 確實係俾到你不斷要去强烈追逐嘅意慾.

2. 威士忌以往俾人印象係口鞋脷掘兼且用嚟溝綠茶或冰塊嘅粗嘢, 其實係俾廣告商故意誤導全世界飲家, 佢地要量產唔要質素. 而我亦唔會推介呢一類威士忌俾大家.

3. 我强調威士忌精品係以工匠級製品為主而並不是只懂得常規化市面常見的品牌. 這倡導巳被認同及廣傳.

4. 威士忌進修書本欠奉, 所以一般愛好者只懂道說途聽皮毛知識. 多飲多接觸有料業內人仕係提高水平唯一辦法.

5. 威士忌工匠級製品基本上係用上不同木桶就有非常顯著優點分別, 玩味十足, 令人興奮. Macallan Sherry Cask Old Series are good examples.

6. 儲存十分方便, 開瓶喝不完亦可保存壹年或以上.

7. 配任何食物都得心應手, 我最近的 100人晚宴 whisky & dine 配搭係超乎想像大成功.

8. 高質素威士忌售價比某些名牌紅酒來得更化算合理.

近來試一些只有五, 七或十年嘅 vintage statement whisky, 全部係非常出色, 兼且超值.

Whisky 嘅好處係愈寫愈有!

出口總值超過二十億英鎊 2 billion sterling pound, 個中奥秘唔係三言兩語就可交代了解.

威士忌在眾人認知 single malt 為大前提下, 另一款精品 single grain 會被人忽略.

其實 grain whisky 係美國嘅主流, 例如 VAT 69威, 皆因 American whisky law 要51% 係用穀物成份.

而命之水發源地蘇格蘭就有一廣大平原叫 "低地" 'LOWLAND' 就係穀物威士忌嘅中心.

常規化大產能例如 Johnny Walker, Chivas 嘅 grain whisky blending 混和版本就係採用 Lowland 嘅穀物去釀造.

當然最罕有及工匠級質素就要數到 single cask single grain whisky.

Single cask single grain 一般都蘊藏 20年或以上, 芬香柔和甜美確實係世間罕有.

現貨精品可参考較早之前嘅 post : Cameronbridge 1990/23yrs, Invergordon 1988/25yrs.

Joe 兄, 羊年豐盛.

Islay 係 Scotland 最有個性及最獨特嘅產區.

呢區個十間 distillery 嘅 whisky 每一間都擁有獨特 peaty & smoky 風味, 真係講三四晚都唔完.

Lagavulin 嘅常規化43%-46% ABV係最受大眾飲家歡迎. 但價錢巳上漲不少.

當然如有機會品嚐到同區其它 distillery 嘅 Single Cask, Cask Strength, 高度數工藝級數的話, 又可以令自己再度增值.

例如最近上圖嘅 Islay Kilchoman Single Cask Cask Strength, Sherry 桶就係其中表表者.

其它國家見到 Islay 嘅 peaty & smoky 咁成功就有樣學樣, 但, 我嘅結論就係 "they can copy, BUT never match"

Non Vintage Whisky

一位資深 Scotland Whisky Commentator 對最近多咗 Non vintage 冇特定蒸餾年份但只列明陳年歲數嘅 whisky 睇法:

佢慨嘆最近試飲過的10,12,18年的名廠 whisky水準大幅下滑,决定暫停購買及對這類 Whisky 不作任何測試及評論。

大家想想箇中原因為何?

50%+ is correct.

The rest are:

1. 大眾飲家盲信名牌, 冇能力去分辨乜嘢係工匠級產品, 以為印咗18年係 label 就 deb 糖,

2. 好多蒸餾廠冇能力去製做工匠級產品, 唯有博一博, 單車變摩托.
